Megatrends such as electromobility or the ever-increasing range of functions in vehicles desired by end customers are fundamentally changing automotive processes. In all aspects - from development to production - the level of complexity of the solutions to be developed is constantly increasing.

In order to exploit opportunities from design to manufacturing in the wiring harness, it is crucial to evaluate both overarching trends and specific technologies as well as to leverage transformation potential from other areas or adjacent technologies.

To this end, a trend and transformation scouting study was conducted from February 2023 to November 2023 in collaboration with experts from the wiring harness industry. Industry trends were identified and evaluated, and these were compiled into a radar chart outlining their transfer potential. This trend radar, with its transformation potential, provides a strong foundation for technology transfer, as it highlights potential areas of innovation within the wiring harness.
