Megatrends such as electromobility or the ever-increasing range of functions in vehicles desired by end customers are fundamentally changing automotive processes. In all aspects - from development to production - the level of complexity of the solutions to be developed is constantly increasing.
In order to exploit opportunities from design to manufacturing in the wiring harness, it is crucial to evaluate both overarching trends and specific technologies as well as to leverage transformation potential from other areas or adjacent technologies.
For this purpose, trend and transformation scouting was carried out together with experts from the wiring system industry from February 2023 to November 2023. Trends in the industry were identified, evaluated and presented as Radar with regard to their transfer potential. The trend radar, with its transformation potential, forms a strong starting point for technology transfer, as it shows potential fields of innovation in the wiring harness.
