The Robotics Challenge goes into its third round: From January 1 to May 15, 2026 Companies are developing innovative robot solutions for the automated production of a hybrid wiring harness module. The goal is to replace manual work steps with automated processes – with particular attention to cost-effectiveness, reliability, quality, and compliance with standards. The goal is to address current industry needs and showcase new automation concepts.
In the first digital information event, interested companies will receive a concise overview of the objectives, process, and framework of the Robotics Challenge 2026. The session is aimed particularly at organizations that are considering participation or are still in the decision-making phase.
Note: On 24 November 2025, a second digital info session The detailed task, technical requirements, and evaluation criteria will be presented there.
The event is aimed at companies, research institutes and teams from the fields of mechanical engineering, robotics, control software, manufacturing technology, automation and artificial intelligence who would like to consider participating or receive initial information about the challenge.
The first information session for the Robotics Challenge 2026 took place on October 23, 2025. Over 30 participants from research, industry, and academia took the opportunity to learn about the new challenge – the automated production of a hybrid wiring harness module. The focus was on the challenge's objectives, the framework for participants, and an initial overview of the process and support provided by the organizing team. The recording and presentation slides of the event are now available in the download area.
The second information session will take place on November 24, 2025, and will focus on the technical details and evaluation criteria of the challenge.
