On June 25, 2024, we were represented at the Catena-X Congress in Stuttgart and were able to have many exciting discussions. The event under the motto "Catena-X - The common path to the digital data economy" offered an ideal platform to underline the importance and advantages of Catena-X for the wiring harness industry.
The day began with a welcome address by Dr. Lars Friedrich, President & CEO of Dürr Systems AG, followed by a greeting from Ernst Stöckl-Pukall, Head of the Digitalization and Industry 4.0 Department at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection. Both emphasized the central role of digitalization and the Relevance of data ecosystems for the automotive industryOliver Ganser, Chairman of the Board of the Catena-X Automotive Network eV and Consortium Manager of Catena-X, presented the mission of Catena-X in his keynote speech and highlighted how the network increases efficiency in the value chain. The subsequent use cases illustrated possible applications of Catena-X, for example in the preparation of the company's carbon footprint and the traceability of quality-critical topics. In addition, various specialist forums were held that were aimed at user companies, developers and consultants and offered detailed insights into the implementation and use of Catena-X.
The event offered a balanced mix of networking opportunities and knowledge transfer in interesting presentations. Particularly noteworthy is the panel discussion in the afternoon, in which Dr. Patrick Rapp and other experts shared their first experiences and findings with Catena-X.
Our stand offered the opportunity to talk directly with participants from cable harness companies and to discover the specific advantages of Catena-X for the wiring harness industry to discuss. At the same time, the event also marked the start of our convoy project “Getting to know Catena-X” of the wiring harness transformation hub, which aims to implement Catena-X in the wiring harness value chain in automobiles. In this context, we were very pleased that Mr. Ganser and Mr. Stöckl-Pukall highlighted the importance and opportunities for the convoy project in an exclusive meet & greet with companies from the wiring harness spectrum.
