The increasing electrification of modern vehicles significantly raises the demands on the development, manufacturing, and quality assurance of vehicle electrical systems. At the same time, the industry is experiencing a growing need for qualified specialists who understand and can apply the complex interrelationships of wiring harnesses, components, and production processes.
Within the 8th Innovation Showcase on February 24, 2026 Mirko Horn of train4tec GmbH therefore presented a qualification approach for training on-board electrical system specialists. His presentation demonstrated how practical training concepts can contribute to imparting specialist knowledge throughout the entire product development process and specifically prepare employees for the requirements of on-board electrical system development. It is aimed particularly at all specialists in the automotive sector.
The training covers key aspects of vehicle electrical system development, from tool landscapes, architecture, topology, and design to relevant technologies and components such as contact systems, wiring, fuses, and relays. It also addresses the influence of different electrical system voltage levels and lightweight construction requirements on component design. This is complemented by topics such as assembly and production techniques, international development and logistics structures, quality assurance for components and wiring harnesses, and their integration into vehicle assembly.
