As part of the Sustainability theme day on March 19, 2026 Thomas Janzen from SAP SE presented how the Catena-X ecosystem, as a universal network for the automotive industry, provides the infrastructure for uniform, targeted and secure end-to-end data exchange between members of the entire value chain.

The presentation demonstrated how a pilot application enables the efficient calculation of Product Carbon Footprints to meet legal requirements and track company CO₂ targets – supported by the two certified SAP apps SAP Sustainability Data Exchange and SAP Sustainability Footprint Management, which together allow the calculation and exchange of PCF data via industry networks such as Catena-X.
