The combination of humans and robots in the production of wiring harnesses represents a promising solution for increasing efficiency and precision in production. Especially in hybrid assembly teams where humans and machines interact with each other, new potential for flexible and adaptive manufacturing arises. Technologies such as environmental awareness and bidirectional communication between humans, robots, and assistance systems open up new possibilities for optimizing production processes.
In this presentation, Prof. Dr. Tobias Kaupp from the Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences will present the results of two research projects on the integration of human-robot collaboration (HRC) in wiring harness production on July 8, 2025, as part of the trend outlook . The presentation will demonstrate how HRC systems, through intelligent assistance systems and real-time monitoring of the workspace, can make production safer and more efficient.
