working group "Green Wiring System"

Sustainability in Wiring Harness Production

Why sustainability is crucial in wiring harness production

The "Green Wiring System" working group focuses on sustainable materials, recycling methods and CO₂ reduction in wiring system production. Challenges such as rising raw material prices, regulatory requirements and growing environmental awareness require a rethink.

Regulatory drivers:

  • ELV Directive: Mandatory recycling quotas from 2030.
  • CSR Directive: Extended sustainability reporting obligations from 2026.
  • CO₂ costs: sustainability as an economic advantage.

goals of the working group

The Transformation Hub Leitungssatz offers a neutral platform for companies to develop sustainable technologies and strategies. A Whitepaper, which summarizes proven methods and recommendations for action.

Central questions:

  • What sustainable material alternatives are there?
  • Which recycling technologies are sustainable?
  • Where is there potential for innovation in wiring harness production?
  • How can CO₂ emissions be reduced along the value chain?
